Information for Patients

Professional Formulas provides natural medicines exclusively to healthcare practitioners. If you are a patient interested in obtaining our products for yourself, or if you have questions about our products and/or how to use them, we suggest consulting with your practitioner.

Please see the information below for answers to some of the most common questions we receive from patients/consumers.

Can I place an order for my supplements on my own?

We do not allow patients to place orders directly with us. We believe natural medicines provide the greatest benefit when they are part of a broader treatment plan directed by an experienced healthcare professional, so please contact your healthcare provider to obtain our products.

Why do you only sell to healthcare professionals?

Our products are designed for use under the supervision of a trained practitioner, who plays a vital role in assessing patient health, selecting the right natural medicines, and monitoring treatment.

Can I buy Professional Formulas products online?

Our Resale Policy prohibits practitioners from selling our products online - except in the context of an existing practitioner-patient relationship. We work diligently to enforce this policy. We would strongly discourage you from purchasing our products anywhere except from your practitioner as the authenticity and chain of custody are unknown for any other products you see online.

How can I be assured of product quality?

Our nutritional products are all manufactured in an NSF-certified, GMP-compliant facility and our homeopathic remedies are all hand-succussed in our own FDA-registered OTC drug facility, which is held to even higher GMP standards. Moreover, we source some of the highest quality ingredients in the world that we process and combine in ways that maximize effectiveness. Quality documentation is available to practitioners with established accounts upon request.

Are natural remedies regulated?

Natural medicines are primarily regulated under the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, and the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act. These regulations and their addendums and supplements dictate ways in which natural medicines are manufactured, tested, documented, labeled, distributed, and advertised.

Where should I direct product questions?

Please direct all questions to the practitioner who provided the product(s) to you. Your practitioner knows the most about your personal health history and your treatment plan, and should be able to answer your questions. We are unable to answer questions about the treatment plan developed by your practitioner.

How do I take the product my practitioner gave me?

Standard dosing suggestions are listed on the right side panel of every product label. Please refer to this information and consult your practitioner.

Can my doctor have products sent directly to me?

Your practitioner may place an order and have it sent directly to you. If they have not established an account with us yet, they must do so prior to ordering.

My current practitioner can no longer supply products to me. How can I purchase them in the future?

If you need to find a new practitioner, we suggest finding one who suits your healthcare philosophies and personal needs. If your new practitioner does not carry our products, we make it very easy for him/her to establish an account.

Can you help me find a new practitioner?

Unfortunately, privacy and other limitations prevent us from identifying specific practitioners in your area who carry our products. Regional and national associations often have robust search tools that may be helpful. For example, please see the National Center for Homeopathy, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, the American Chiropractic Association, or the American College for Advancement in Medicine.

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a safe, natural system used to help the body relieve symptoms, restore itself, and improve overall health. Homeopathy is based upon the Law of Similars, which suggests that highly diluted substances will assist the body with alleviating symptoms that are caused by similar, non-diluted substances. Homeopathy has been used around the world for hundreds of years and has assisted millions of patients.

Homeopathic remedies are regulated as drugs under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) monitors compliance with manufacturing and labeling guidelines, while the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has regulatory authority for OTC drug advertising. Homeopathic medicines are manufactured in accordance with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) and pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

What is an X potency?

Homeopathic remedies are manufactured under very strict and specific guidelines. In the case of an X potency, the remedy is prepared by diluting one part of an original liquid substance in nine parts of a diluting agent (typically purified water and alcohol). The resulting ten parts of diluted mixture is hand-shaken using a technique called succussion, and then repeatedly diluted and succussed again in a similar fashion. A remedy at a 6X potency has been serially diluted 1:10 six times, meaning that the final product possesses one part of the original substance in one million parts of diluted finished product.
